Every Thursday during September, Chili’s restaurants in both Brownwood and Stephenville are giving back a portion of proceeds to support the Heart of Texas Honor Guard which is made up of members from both cities.  Proceeds will help purchase new uniforms for the guard and any excess money raised will be donated to fellow firefighter Jake Landess who is battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Each Thursday, when a customer mentions the Heart of Texas Honor Guard or presents a flyer (shown below), Chili’s will donate 10% of the customer’s ticket to the Honor Guard.  This Thursday, September 26 is the last day of the fundraiser.  For those who cannot make it to the give back event, donations are appreciated and may be dropped off at the Brownwood Central Fire Station or at Stephenville Fire Station #1.

The Heart of Texas Honor Guard is made up of members of the Brownwood Professional Firefighters Association and the Stephenville Professional Firefighters Association.  The honor guard often carries the colors in local parades and special events.  Honor Guard members also help those in crisis, such as the victims and families of those affected by the tragedy in West, Texas earlier this year.
