Reminder: Third Annual Blanket Frontier Day Set for Saturday

BlanketFrontierDays2013The annual Blanket Frontier Day will be held Saturday, September 14th, a day filled with activities including a parade, BBQ cook-off, street dance and much more.

The Blanket Frontier Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2013 in Blanket, Texas. Activities will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the theme for the event is “Bringing Generations Together.”  This will be the third year for Blanket to host this special community-wide event. The public is invited to come be a part of the festivities.

Activities will include vendors, a parade, BBQ cook-off, Dutch oven demonstration, street dance starting at 8:00 p.m., kid’s activities and many other all day community wide events.

The parade will start at 2:00 p.m.  There will be three judges selected to judge the parade.  Awards will be presented after the parade to first, second, and third place winners.

Members of the Blanket Frontier Day committee will also raffle off an 870 Remington 12 gauge shotgun at 7:00 p.m. during Frontier Day.   Tickets are $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00 and can be purchased from any committee member and at the whistle Stop in Blanket.  Tickets will also be available all day during the event.

So mark your calendar for this Saturday for some old fashion fun at Blanket Frontier Day.
