Owetia Janice Rush Fairrow

FairrowOwetiaOwetia Janice Rush Fairrow, 76, of Brownwood, went home to be with the Lord on, August 31, 2013 in Brownwood, Texas.

Funeral service will be held in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, September 2, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Phillip Scott of Grace Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Salt Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 until 6:00.

Owetia was born in Comanche, Texas to Milton and Eltis Aishinhurst Rush on June 11, 1937. She went to Blanket High School. She married Jodell Fairrow on March 29, 1956. She retired from Brownwood ISD. She enjoyed reading, baking, gardening, and helping others; but most of all, spending time with her family.

Owetia was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Eltis Rush; a son Ricky Dale Fairrow and a brother Jerry Glen Rush.

Owetia is survived by her husband of 56 years Jodell Fairrow, her brother Les Rush (Sue) of Early; two daughters Serena Guthrie of Brownwood and Shannon (Kirk) Gober of Early; five grandchildren Kristen Hernandez, Christopher Merritt, Tyler Parsons, Cooper (Brittany) Merritt (currently serving our country in Afghanistan), and Trey Guthrie; and a great-grandson Tyler Gage Hernandez.; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Solaris Hospice, Oak Ridge Manor, Dr. Mark Martin and Dr. Stephen Oines for their support in her final days.
