Four local businesses received State of Texas Recognition Awards on Thursday at the Governor’s Small Business Forum that was hosted in Brownwood at Howard Payne University.

Businesses recognized include Common Grounds Coffeehouse and Deli, Dazzling Diva’s, Star of Texas Bed and Breakfast and Underwood’s Cafeteria.   Each business owner received a framed State of Texas Recognition Award certificate and a gift from the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce.

The awards were presented by Commissioner Hope Andrade of the Texas Workforce Commission, Larry Ruggiano and Hailey Woldt of the Governor’s Office, and Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes.

The Governor’s Small Forums are held in various cities across the state each year to provide information on local, state and federal small business resources.   The Brownwood forum was sponsored by the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, the Office of the Governor and the Texas Workforce Commission.
