One person was transported to the hospital in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Avenue E and 17th street on Wednesday evening shortly after 7 PM.

According to witnesses on scene, a Chevy Cruze was traveling southwest on Avenue E when the driver began to cross the intersection, and the GMC pickup, which was traveling southeast on 17th Street, struck the side of the car.  The driver of the Cruze stated that she didn’t see a stop sign, which was partially obstructed from view by tree limbs.

A passenger of the GMC pickup was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of her injuries.  The extent of her injuries was not reported at the time of the accident.

All occupants of the Cruze were reported to be in good condition with only one male having a laceration along with bruising on his right upper arm from the air bag.

The pickup received significant front-end damage and the Cruze sustained heavy damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.  Pictured above and below are the damaged vehicles.

Brownwood Fire Department, Brownwood Police Department and Guardian EMS responded to the scene of the accident.
