Marie Chambers Roberson

robersonMarie Chambers Roberson age 92, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013, at the Windcrest Alzheimer’s Center in Abilene.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday August 20 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, 800 Center Ave., Brownwood with Pastor Tim Skaggs officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Roberson, Kenneth Earl Roberson, Rayce Roberson, Dakota Roberson and Kobe Roberson. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday at Davis-Morris.

Marie was born on September 17, 1920, in May, Texas to Starling S. Chambers and Addie N. Cook Chambers. She married Raymond Roberson in Brownwood on December 17, 1938, and worked at Brownwood ISD as a Secretary and Teachers Aid for 20 years. After retiring from Brownwood ISD, she worked with her husband Raymond in the family business, Roberson Rent-All for 20 years and retired in 1991. She a longtime member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. Marie and Raymond travelled many miles together in their motorhome and on their motorcycle.

Marie is survived by sons, Raymond Roberson Jr. and wife Mary, of Abilene, TX and Kenneth Roberson and wife Rosy of Christoval, TX; grandchildren, Randy Roberson and wife Malinda of Abilene, TX, Marcy Roberson of Abilene, TX, Kenneth Earl Roberson of Stanton, TX and Mayra Roberson of San Angelo, TX; great grandchildren, Rayce and Amanda Roberson, Dakota and Kobe Roberson, and their mother Tracy Roberson, Christian and Emiliano Quezada and their father Jose Quezada.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Sr.; parents, Starling and Addie Chambers and one brother, Elbert Chambers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to charity of choice. Condolences for the family may be left at www.davismorrisfuneralhome.com.
