The Brownwood Reunion Celebration and the Brownwood Municipal Police Association will present Brown County’s only speed climbing competition during this year’s Reunion event next month.

The event will be held Saturday, September 21st during the Brownwood Reunion Celebration.  Each climber of the rock wall will race three times and the best of the three will be entered toward the grand prize from Aaron’s Furniture.

Entry fee is $15 per climber and there will be two categories, Junior – 14 and under and Senior – 15 and up.

Proceeds from the event will help sponsor local scholarships and education for Brown County youth.

Registration forms are available online at CelebrateBrownwood.com or at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, and contestants can register at the rock wall which will be located on the Brownwood Reunion Celebration festival grounds off of Carnegie Street.

This year’s Brownwood Reunion Celebration will be held September 20, 21, and 22.  The community-wide festival features a variety of contests, events, attractions, music, and food in addition to the main concerts.
