Law Enforcement Blotter 8/15

LECSmLaw enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday, August 15, 2013.

Wednesday, August 14

*12:42 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of 4th Street regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, a male and female had been involved in a verbal altercation which escalated into a physical assault.  Both parties claimed they were assaulted by the other party, the report states.  The parties were separated and a report filed for assault with injury family violence, according to police.

*1:32 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart regarding a theft in progress.  Upon officers’ arrival, 25-year-old Monica Nicole Smith and 34-year-old Angelina Sophronia Burks were both arrested and each charged with class B theft (equal or greater than $50 less than $500), according to the report.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 47-year-old Ralph Roger Campbell of Parker Heights on a warrant for failure to appear/forgery.

*Early Police arrested 34-year-old Kevin Shane Sliger of Early for assault causes bodily injury family violence and warrants related to two counts of evading arrest/detention with previous conviction, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone, and tamper with physical evidence.  Sliger is currently being held on bonds totaling $22,500.

Thursday, August 15

*12:45 AM – Brownwood responded to the 800 block of Beaver Street regarding the theft of a dog that had just occurred.

*3:15 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block regarding an unwanted person.  As a result of this call, 19-year-old Dustin Atkins was arrested disorderly conduct loud profane language.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
