reunion_logoThe 13th annual Brownwood Reunion Celebration will once again feature a 5K/10K run and 1.5 mile walk as one of the competitions.  This popular event typically attracts over 400 participants each year as they race through Downtown Brownwood.

The event will take place during Reunion on Saturday, September 21st.  It begins and ends at the Lehnis Railroad Museum and takes runners past the Depot District, old Coca-Cola Building, Howard Payne University campus, Center Park, the Lyric Theatre, Brown County Court house and the Guinness Book of World Record’s smallest block in the world.

The 10K will start at 7:30 AM with the start of the 5K immediately following and walkers to follow thereafter.

Cost to participate is $25 per person. Age categories include 10 & under, 11-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & over.  Enter early as no race-day registrations will be accepted this year.

Awards will be given to the first 3 places in each age group, overall male & female & winning team entry. (Teams consist of 3-5 members from a business/group/family.  Top 3 times count.)

T-shirts will be guaranteed for the first 300 entries.

Registration forms are available online at CelebrateBrownwood.com or at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce.  Online registrations can also be made HERE.    For more information, call Lisa Dick at 325-647-6607.

The Brownwood Reunion Celebration is a community-wide festival featuring a variety of contests, events, attractions, music, and food in addition to the main concerts.

Watch for more info about this year’s event in the coming weeks at CelebrateBrownwood.com or “like” the Brownwood Reunion Celebration Facebook page.
