Brownwood and Early fire departments responded to a fire at the 3M plant in Brownwood at approximately 3:15 PM Thursday afternoon.

The fire, which was reported to be inside machinery in the interior of the plant, was quickly extinguished by Brownwood Fire Department.  Early Volunteer Fire Department assisted BFD and helped with rehabbing the building, ventilating it for the safety of the workers inside.

Guardian EMS stood by in case of injuries; however none were reported.  Brownwood Police also were called to the scene in case traffic control was needed.

The details of the damage caused by the fire were not available at the time of the fire.  Some employees were evacuated from building one when the incident occurred.
