Camp Bowie Aquatic Center Releases Revised End-of-Season Schedule with Additional Days

mainThe City of Brownwood recently announced that this Friday would the last day of regular hours for the Camp Bowie Family Aquatic Center with two additional weekends after that, but thanks to the availability of more lifeguards, the center can stay open 4 additional days next week on top of what was previously announced.

“We were able to have enough lifeguards to open four additional days,” said Brownwood Parks & Recreation Director David Withers in an email releasing the additional hours.

The additional days and weekends will have shortened, one-session hours which include (added dates in the updated schedule are listed in bold):

  • Saturday August 3rd  – 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
  • Sunday August 4th  –  1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
  • Monday August 5th  –   CLOSED
  • Tuesday August 6th  –  1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Wednesday August 7th  –  1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Thursday August 8th  –  1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Friday August 9th  –  1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Saturday August 10th  – 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
  • Sunday August 11th  –  1:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Lap swimming will continue 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM Tuesday through Fridays. The lap swimming area will be the only area of the pool open during these hours – none of the other features of the pool will be open. Standard admission rates will apply.

Admission is $2.00 ages 12 & under, $3.00 ages 13 & up and $1.75 for day cares & senior citizens.

Wiggins Pool is now closed for the season.
