miltonAveVBSlogo13A favorite summertime tradition for many children and church members, Vacation Bible Schools are taking place at many local churches this summer.  Volunteers are working hard to make special experiences and memories for children.    Customarily offered are weeks full of learning about God and Christian teachings, arts & crafts, plus Kool-Aid and lots of cookies.

Schedules of vacation Bible schools that are being offered in the coming weeks are below.

Thursday Mornings June 20th-August 1st

Austin Avenue Church of Christ will be hosting a weekly VBS from 10:30 a.m. – noon on Thursday mornings this summer from June 20th-August 1st (no VBS on July 4th).  Learn God’s lessons from Duck Dynasty at “Kids Matter Camp.”

For more information, contact Julie Moore (325) 646-0855. Austin Avenue Church of Christ is located at 1020 Austin Avenue in Brownwood.  Please bring kids to the back of the church, look for the small staircase with a sign.

July 29 – August 2

Milton Avenue Baptist Church will host their annual Vacation Bible School Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 2.  Each evening the VBS will begin at 6:00 PM and will end at 9:00 PM.

A group from Bethel Church in La Vernia, Texas will be coming to assist the members of Milton Avenue with this VBS week.  This is the tenth year the group from Bethel Church has come to help with the VBS and minister to the Brownwood community according to Milton Avenue Baptist Church Pastor Ellis Villarreal.  He stated that last summer the church saw 80 children in attendance and their hope this summer is to minister to 100 or more.  So mark your calendar for VBS July 29 – August 2 from 6-9 PM.  For more information please call 325-646-0866.
