The Brownwood High School Lionettes hosted their annual Little Lionette Camp this week, Monday through Wednesday and had 71 girls in attendance, their largest group over the past few years.

According to Lionettes Sponsor Stacee Hetzel, this number is up from years past which typically saw attendance of 50-60 girls.

During the camp, the Little Lionettes enjoyed crafts, snacks and learned a few routines with their Big Lionettes.  The girls performed for their parents at the end of Wednesday’s camp.  Little Lionettes will be invited to perform a pre-game performance at a Lions’ home football game and at the annual BHS Spring Show, hosted by the Lionettes.

Pictured above and below are Lionettes and Little Lionettes during the camp.

At a recent drill team camp held at Southern Methodist University, five of the Lionettes were chosen as All American Dancers (Destiny Muenzler, Bethany Pittman, Alexis Garcia, Shania Dixon, and Alex Hetzel) and the entire team was chosen as All American Team.  This award comes with an invitation to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Capital One Bowl halftime performance.  Twelve Lionettes registered for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and the fundraising for their trip is now underway.  Anyone that would like to support the Lionettes can contact Stacee Hetzel @ stacee.hetzel@brownwoodisd.org.
