Brownwood City Council Agenda Regular Called Meeting

9:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2013 Council Chambers, City Hall 501 Center Avenue, Brownwood, Texas

The City Council of the City of Brownwood, Texas, reserves the right to meet in closed, executive session on any of the items listed below should the need arise and if authorized by Title 5, Chapter 551, of the Texas Government Code.

The City Council may deliberate and/or act on the following items:

  1. Call to Order
  2. Pledge of Allegiance
  3. Invocation
  4. Items to be withdrawn
  5. Introductions, Announcements, and Recognitions

A. The Oath of Office and Law Enforcement Oath of Honor will be given to newly hired Police officer Douglas Stephens by City Secretary or City Attorney and Police Chief.

  1. Citizen Presentations

Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Council respectfully requests that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.

9. Consent Agenda

A. Consider an Ordinance on second and third/final reading changing the zoning classification for approximately 34.5 acres out of the David J Jones Survey Number 50, Abstract Number 549; the I&GN RR Co. Survey Number 500, Abstract 1220; the Taylor Smith Survey Number 600, Abstract 821; located at 1811 Shaw Drive from R-l Single Family Residential District to A-I Agricultural District.

B. Consider an Ordinance on second and third/final reading changing the zoning classification for 124.483 acres located in the Kerr County School Land Survey Number 277, Abstract 570, part of Blocks 22 & 23 located at the NW intersection of FM 45 and Indian Creek Road, from A-I Agricultural District to M-l Restricted Industrial District.

C. Consider an Ordinance on second and third/final reading changing the zoning classification for 3.91 acres out of the Kerr County Land Survey 278, Abstract 576, Block 18, located in the 2000 block of Indian Creek Road from R-I Single-Family Residential District to C-l Local Business District.

D. Consider awarding a bid from Patricia Nickerson for the Coliseum concessions contract.

A. Consider an Ordinance on first reading approving revisions to the Drought Contingency Plan.

B. Consider a Resolution directing publication of notice of intention to issue combination tax and revenue certificates of obligation for improvements to the City of Brownwood Landfill.

11. Appointments

A. Consider a reappointment to Center for Life Resources Board.

B. Consider nominating Mayor Stephen Haynes as a candidate for election to the TML Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool Board of Trustees.

C. Fire Station Update

13. Adjournment.
