On Friday, July 05, 2013, around 2:30 am officers of the Brownwood Police Department were patrolling in the 2600 block of Crockett Drive adjacent to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.  At that location, they were approached by citizens who informed them of an assault involving a knife.

Officers followed up on this information and discovered 20-year-old Alexander Jose Elizondo, in an ER trauma room receiving treatment for a knife wound to his arm.  Elizondo required immediate surgery to repair a severed artery and is listed in good condition. The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Dylan Blake Jones (pictured), arrived at the ER as well in order to receive treatment for his injuries which were considered minor.

Detectives with the Brownwood Police Department Criminal Investigations Division arrived to assist in the investigation.  Further information was gathered and it was revealed that Elizondo and Jones were with several other subjects at a residence on Broadmoor Drive when they got into the physical altercation with each other.

No further information could be provided as this investigation is still ongoing.
