bellSandra Kaye Corder Bell went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Her family is comforted in knowing that her faith was quite strong, and that she is with the Lord today.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Fuller Garden in the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.

Born in Fort Worth on Feb. 13, 1945, to Ina Ruth Durham Corder and Nolan John Corder, Sr., Sandra graduated from Haltom High School in 1963. She married Robert Dale Bell, on June 12, 1965. Sandra taught English at Haltom Middle School for 27 years.

A member of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators and recipient of numerous excellence in teaching awards, Sandra was respected by both students and colleagues alike as an innovative teacher and a passionate advocate for students and lifelong learning.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Nolan John Corder, Jr., and Jimmie Wayne Corder. Sandra is survived by her husband of 48 years, daughter Cindy Franklin and husband Joe, of Brownwood; son, Greg Bell and wife, Teresa, of North Richland Hills; daughter, Amy Bell of Grapevine; and one grandson, Jacob Franklin of Brownwood, along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends.

Given her dedication to teaching, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Sandra’s name to the Birdville Education Foundation ( www.birdvilleeducationfoundation.com).  Funds will go towards Innovative Teacher Grants to support educators in the Birdville Independent School District.
