Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3278 and the Ladies & Men’s Auxiliary will observe Independence Day by conducting a flag retirement ceremony 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 4th.  The public is invited to attend.

The observance will be held at the VFW Post, located at 2300 Stephen F. Austin.

The ceremony will consist of the lowering of the retiring flag and raising the new National Ensign to the sound of “To the Colors” then a reading of the history of the 1st announcement of the Declaration of Independence.

In addition to the flag retirement ceremony, there will also be a cookout for those attending.
