Minnie “Nannie” Parsons

ParsonsMinnieMinnie McCollaum Parsons, age 90, of Bangs passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Todd King officiating, interment will follow at Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3-5 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home.

Minnie was born June 24, 1922 to Jodie and Pearl McCollaum in Waco, Texas. She married Nick Parsons on August 4, 1941; they had 5 beautiful children. She attended High Mesa Cowboy Church. Minnie was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, better known as Grandma. She loved gardening and crafting.

She leaves behind her sons Maron Parsons and wife Susie of Bangs, Jodie Parsons and wife Karyl Ann of Brownwood, Jerry Parsons and wife Kim of Willisville, IL; daughters Ann Smith of Alto, N.M., Rita Parsons of Abernathy, TX; grandchildren Nicky, David, Lisa, Jess, Stacy, Shane, Chauncey, Dustin, Laura, Cotie, and John; great-grandchildren Erin, Aneal, Nicholas, Presley, Jordan, Cameron, Logan, Kota, Cooper, Trey, Jaron, Evan, Caris, Cannon, and Jessie; sister-in-law Jo Hutton of Waco, TX; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Minnie is preceded in death by her husband; a grandson Joel; parents; one brother; four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
