Charles Richard Kizer

Charles Richard Kizer, 90, went to his heavenly home on June 11, 2013. Visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM June 14, 2013 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park, Early, Texas.

Charles Richard Kizer was born on November 17, 1922, to his parents, Joseph Walter Kizer and Altha Eugenia Barnwell Kizer, in Santa Anna, Texas. Charles Kizer married Charlie Mae Newton on July 12, 1941. They were married 70 wonderful years. They attended First Baptist Church of Brownwood.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Patricia Ann White and husband Tom; grandson, James Shannon Kizer and wife Regina, granddaughter, Brandi West and husband Reed; 4 great-granddaughters, Beth Ann and Sarah West and Brooklyn and Charley Kizer.

Charles is preceded in death by his loving wife Charlie Mae; a son, James Richard Kizer; brothers, WJ Kizer, Raymond Kizer and Fred Kizer; sisters, Mabel Fletcher, Sybil Kizer and Lorna Lucksinger.

Charles was a Navy Veteran and proudly served his country during World War II at Pearl Harbor and Midway Island.

Charles worked for the Ross Company for 15 years selling and setting up concrete plants. He worked for Wall Molding as a salesman for 25 years with territories covering half of the United States. He loved to talk about picture frame molding. He was a very good cook and enjoyed cooking bar-b-que. He collected antiques, art and books. He had a great love for history. Charles loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with his family.
