Sullivan Brownwood TX A funeral Mass for Mary Sullivan, age 88, of Brownwood, will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 10, 2013 at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church.  Entombment will follow at 2:30 at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 on Sunday evening at the funeral home chapel, with recitation of the Holy Rosary starting at 7:00.

Heartland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Mary had a happy heart, beautiful soul and was a true blessing to all who knew and loved her.  She will be remembered for her kind, gentle, Christian spirit.  She was a devout Catholic, avid gardener, loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Mary was born on August 21, 1924 in George West, Texas to G.W. and Elsie Schellchase McKinney and married the love of her life Roy Martin Sullivan on March 21, 1948.  During their 54 years of life together, they lived in many areas including Temple, Eden, Lometa, Menard, Brady, and Lampasas as she followed Roy wherever Santa Fe Railway might take them.  They always found time for golfing, dancing, and making memories with each other, family and friends.

Mary was a retired hairdresser and active member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Brownwood.

Mary is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Harris and husband Steven of Pear Valley, two sons, Stephen Sullivan and wife Caye of Tyler and Ronald Sullivan and wife Paula of Grand Prairie; eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, Ann Pierce and Icie Howze, both of Brownwood, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy in 2002, a daughter, Cynthia Ann Sullivan, a granddaughter, Ashton Marie Goodenberger and a sister, Myrtle Norvell.

The family would like to thank the staff of CMS Healthcare and Brownwood Regional Medical Center for their kindness and compassionate care.

Condolences can be left for the family and a video tribute can be viewed at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
