The Bangs Dragons survived a slow start to win Game 1 over Wall 14-4 in the Class 2A Regional Final series.

Wall jumped out to a 2-run lead in the early going tonight in Sweetwater, but the Dragons exploded for 14 of the next 16 runs in the game.

J.T. Newton led the charge with a triple and ended the game with a homerun for the final run total.

The Dragons are 26-8 so far on the season with an appearance in the state championship on the line.

The series continues on Saturday at HSU at 5pm.
