BFD Fire & Rescue Reports 5/28

BFDlogoSmall Brownwood TXReports released for the week of May 19-25, 2013 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 24 medical emergencies, 2 fire calls, 4 motor vehicle accidents, and 1 hazardous material call.

Reports of interest include:

Sunday, May 19

*2:35 AM – BFD were dispatched to an accident on 1000 Riverside Park Dr involving a single vehicle hitting a tree.  No injuries were reported.

*10:35 PM – Grass fire 2300 block of Stephen F Austin. Upon arrival, fire was out.  Small grass fire was at bottom of the pole, Firefighters we down the area around the pole and notified Oncor.

Monday, May 20

*2:40 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident on Indian Creek.

Wednesday, May 22

*3:28 PM – BFD were called to a small fire in the alley of the 2200 block of Avenue B.  Upon arrival they found a mattress smoldering. Fire was extinguished and Fire Marshal Preston was called to investigate.

*8:53 PM – Haz-Mat 2600 block of Southside Dr.  Arrived on scene to find a gas meter had been struck by a vehicle and was leaking.  Firefighters shut off the gas and contacted Atmos.

Thursday, May 23

*8:37 PM – Lock-In 1200 block of Avenue G.  Upon arrival vehicle as unlocked.  Baby was unharmed.

Friday, May 24

*9:20 AM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Austin Avenue and Coggin Avenue.  Firefighters assisted with the loading of patients in Guardian.

Saturday, May 25

*2:40 AM – BFD responded to a one-vehicle rollover on Hwy 279. The vehicle struck a parked car.

*11:22 PM – Motor vehicle accident in the 400 block of Cordell St.  Arrived on scene with Guardian and PD was advising there was no accident
