Bangs Regional Museum is promoting a BBQ cook-off in conjunction with the Annual Mayfest festivities in Bangs, May 3 and 4.  The cook-off is a sanctioned event of the International Barbeque Cookers Association.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three cookers in brisket, pork spare ribs and chicken.   A grand prize winner will be selected from the top three cookers.  Judging will be supervised by an IBCA representative.

In addition to plaques, ninety percent of entrants’ fees will be divided among the winners.  Cookers may enter up to May 3.  The Grand Champion winner will receive an invitation to the annual IBCA Invitational finals in August 2013.  Entry forms are available at IBCABBQ.org or by calling Debbie Williams at 325-203-7068.

Major sponsors of the event this year are Big Country Ford in Brownwood and P D Laboratories.

Proceeds will benefit the Bangs Regional Museum and Genealogy Center, Incorporated, a tax exempt 501c (3) entity.

For additional information contact Tom Bowden 214-796-3719.
