Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water stained; 63–67 degrees; 11.11′ low. Black bass to 5 pounds are good on Bass Hogg jigs, watermelon and green pumpkin soft plastics, and spinnerbaits around docks. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are excellent on minnows and chartreuse jigs off Kirkland docks. Crappie are very good on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs over brush piles. Channel catfish are slow. Blue catfish to 8 pounds are good on trotlines baited with live bait. Yellow catfish to 40 pounds are good on trotlines baited with live bait.

Lake Coleman

Water lightly stained; 65–69 degrees; 14.39′ low. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are fair on silver striper jigs. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel catfish are fair on live bait. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 59–64 degrees; 36.77′ low. Black bass are fair on shakyheads, jigs, Rat–L–Traps and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs and Rooster Tails. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

Lake Proctor

Water lightly stained; 63–67 degrees; 3.63′ low. Black bass are good on watermelon crankbaits off points. Striped bass are fair on chartreuse striper jigs and live shad. White bass are good on live shad. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are fair on fresh shad in the lower end of the lake. Yellow catfish are slow.
