2013DonationQuiltThe Brownwood Quilters’ Guild recently announced their annual donation quilt for the 9th Annual Heart of Texas Quilt Show on April 26-27 at the Brownwood Coliseum.  Show hours will be 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. each day.

The 2013 donation quilt is entitled “Stars across the States.”  According to guild members, the quilt has symbolic meaning.  There is a star block for each state depicting that state’s name and state flower.  The quilt top was pieced by members of the guild, layout design and quilting was done by Angela McCorkle.

The tickets for the donation quilt are available from any guild member for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.  A portion of the proceeds will go to the Pregnancy Care Center.

The 9th Annual Heart of Texas Quilt Show is sponsored by the Brownwood Quilters’ Guild, the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and Mills County State Bank.  Admission to the show is $7 for quilters – husbands and children under 12 admitted free of charge.

In addition to the donation quilt, show attendees can view over 120 quilts on display, win door prizes, and attend demonstrations, scissor sharpening and more.  Vendors at this year’s show include A Joyful Soul, Barb’s Quilt Nook, Front Porch Quilts, Houston Street Mercantile, Nana’s Parcels, Quilts with a Heart, Ruby’s Gone Quilting, and Snips & Pins.

For more information, please contact Angela McCorkle at 325-642-1544 or visit www.BrownwoodQuiltersGuild.org or www.VisitBrownwood.com.
