McHorseGraveside services for Inez “Granny” McHorse, 91, of Pecos, formerly of Brownwood , will be held at 3 pm on Monday, April 8, in Fairview Cemetery near Grosvenor, with Pastor Brian Hall officiating. Interment will follow, under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday, April 7, at the funeral home. A procession will leave the funeral home at 2:15 on Monday for Fairview Cemetery.

Ima Inez Sorrels was born on April 10, 1921 in Belen New Mexico to Albert and Maggie Mae Sorrels. She married O.L. McHorse in September of 1940; he preceded her in death in 1992.  Inez had lived in Pecos where she worked in Home Interior as a drapery seamstress for Spring Crest Drapery and Carpets. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Brownwood, then later, back to Pecos . She was known by all as “Granny”, and will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Warren McHorse and wife Jana, of Pecos; granddaughter, Lee Sliger and husband James, of Brownwood; grandson, Chris Dunaway of Brownwood; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, O.L. McHorse; daughter, Louise Ellis; two grandchildren, Lee Boy McHorse and Wanda Sue Sorrels; and great-grandchild, Samuel Adam Cavness. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and five sisters.
