Bart Fris Named TxDOT Brownwood Area Engineer

BartFrisBart Fris, P.E. has been named Brownwood Area Engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) Brownwood District. In this role, he will oversee construction and maintenance operations for Brown, Coleman, Lampasas, McCulloch, Mills and San Saba Counties.

After graduating from the University of Missouri-Rolla in December of 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Fris worked for Peter Kiewit & Sons Construction in Texas and Colorado.  In October 2002, he began his TxDOT career at the Gatesville Area Office in the department’s Waco District.  In June 2005, he accepted a position with Lampasas Area Office, where he became licensed as a Professional Engineer in June 2006.

In December 2006, he transferred to the Brownwood District Design Office.  In May 2008, Fris started his career at the Brownwood Area Office as a Transportation Engineer. He has been serving as interim Area Engineer for the office since October 1, 2012.

Fris and his family live in the Lake Brownwood area.
