William Howard Mobley

mobleyWilliam Howard ‘Bill’ Mobley, 73, of Lake Brownwood, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Rocky Creek Cemetery with the Emergency Medical Services honors provided by Guardian EMS of Brownwood.

Bill was born on June 19, 1939, in Artesia, N.M, the son of Thomas and Myrtle Boldon Mobley. He was married to Wanda Teague in 1957, and they lived in Hobbs, N.M., until 1969 where he worked for Dowell Oilfield Service for more than 20 years. He also lived in Levelland and Sonora until his retirement in 1982. Following retirement, they moved to Lake Brownwood and he worked for Fleet Cementers of Cisco.

In 1993, Bill received a kidney transplant and after his recovery he studies for and became an EMT and he began his second chapter of his life. Bill worked for Medivac, Gold Star and Guardian EMS until health issues forces him to retire.

Bill was also a member of the First Responders, Lake Brownwood Lions Club and the Lake Brownwood Bridge Volunteer Fire Department. His hobbies included working in the yard.

Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wanda Mobley of lake Brownwood; brother, Tom Mobley of New Mexico; four children, Denita and Curtis Sherwood of Azle, Darrell and Candy Mobley of Weslaco, Danny and Clarissa Mobley of Dublin and Darla and Don Chandler of Abilene; grandchildren, Amanda and Keith Menefee of Burleson, April and Jason Ward of Azle, Billy Jernigan of Nevada, Lacey and Wesley Finley of Dublin, Lynzee Mobley of Dublin, Wesley Mobley of San Angelo, James Mobley of San Angelo and Craig Stephenson of Abilene; three great-grandchildren, Braxton and Hadleigh Finley of Dublin, Zaiden Myers and one on the way; sister-in-law, Barbara Mobley of San Angelo; and a very good friend, Tina Salcido, who took the best care of Bill during his illness.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
