Lola Mae Lafferty, age 94, of Brownwood went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, March 1, 2013 at Greenleaf Cemetery with Pastor Alan Morris officiating. Visitation will be from 6 PM to 8PM, Wednesday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Lola was born on March 19, 1918 in Brownwood to Robert and Ella Mae Russell. She married Thomas Jewel Evens Lafferty on December 26, 1923, in Brownwood and together they operated Tom Lafferty Electric . Lola lived her entire life in Brownwood and was a member of Southside Church and a former member Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.

Lola enjoyed entertaining in her home where she was able to showcase her love of cooking, especially her “Famous Banana Bread”. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, gardening, sewing and she loved to travel. She was a member of the Ladies Sorority of Brownwood and” Cradle Roll” at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church

Lola is survived by her great niece, Laura Lizcano-Ortiz, and husband, Edmundo, of San Antonio; great nephew, David Lizcano, and wife, Claudia, of San Antonio and great-great nieces, Sheridyana Ortiz, Laurice Ortiz and Lauren Kahn, all of San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; parents, Robert and Ella Mae and niece, Sherry Patricia Colgin Lizcano. Condolences for the family may be left at www.davismorrisfuneralhome.com.
