James W. Womack

WomackJamesFuneral services for James Womack, 73, of Brownwood, will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, February 28, in the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Hardin officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Point Cemetery under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, February 27, at the funeral home.

Mr. Womack passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

James W. Womack was born on December 4, 1939, in Bangs, Texas, a son of Jeb Womack and Delia Donnell Womack. He married Freda Graves on October 19, 1957 in Brownwood.  She preceded him in death on August 26, 2012.

Mr. Womack had worked at the Brownwood Woolen Mill until his retirement and had also coached little league baseball in Bangs for over 25 years.  He was a lifetime resident of Brown County and a member of the Fourth and Stewart Street Church of Christ.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Jammie Hoot of Belton, Joey and Missi Womack of Bangs and Jonathon Womack and J. W. Womack, both of Brownwood. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his brother, Jody Womack.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeb and Delia Womack; his wife Freda Womack; one son, James “Feller” Womack and nine brothers and sisters.
