Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water clear; 58–62 degrees; 10.54′ low. Black bass are fair on Brownwood craw jigs, watermelon spinnerbaits, craw colored crankbaits, and chrome/blue Rat–L–Traps along the shorelines. Hybrid striper are fair on chartreuse striper jigs. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies, Rat–L–Traps, and shad crankbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs over brush piles. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

Lake Coleman

Water lightly stained; 59–63 degrees; 13.64′ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse Rat–L–Traps, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Channel catfish are good on liver, shrimp, and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 43–52 degrees; 34.46′ low. Black bass are fair on jigs, Rat–L–Traps and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

Lake Proctor

Water lightly stained; 57–61 degrees; 5.26′ low. Black bass are good on green pumpkin soft plastics and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on small spinnerbaits. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on live shad and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.
