Virginia (Ginger) Lee Ligon

ligonVirginia Lee (Rupert) Ligon went “straight up” on February 17, 2013 from her daughter’s home in Bangs, Texas.  A memorial service will be held at the Rocky Creek Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 10:30 AM.  Burial will be in Weslaco, Texas.

Ginger was born on February 3, 1923 in Donna, Texas, to Charles L. and Mary Faith Rupert.  She was married to Don R. Ligon in Odem, Texas in 1941 and later moved to Weslaco.  Ginger loved spending time with her 6 children, 27 grandchildren and 37 great  grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sweet husband Don, their infant son Don R. Ligon, Jr., and her precious son-in-law Kerry Talbert.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Ligon of San Antonio, TX, and Dean Ligon and wife Dawn of Nashville, TN; her daughters, Lynne Teston and husband Kyle of Bangs, TX, Anita Edmonds and husband Don of Knoxville, TN;  Cathy Talbert of San Antonio, TX and Shari Ligon of Santa Maria, CA; sisters Babe Rupert of Illinois and Colleen Dye of Oklahoma and brother Buddy Rupert of Illinois.
