Last Monday, in the early hours of the morning, 30 cement trucks unloaded 300 yards on top of a cleared hilltop, signifying the steadfast progression taking place on the future Hideout Clubhouse.
Waldrop Construction and King’s Point Cove worked to lay the foundation for the three-story clubhouse soon to come.
Brownwood native and loyal King’s Point Cove member, Mike Permenter says he gets more and more excited as he sees the progress being made on the golf club. He and golf buddy Jackie Miller are “looking forward to their wives and families getting to enjoy the facilities as they golf,” Permenter said.
Meanwhile, a rock wall marks the perimeter of a 90-foot long swimming pool, with an edge cascading out into the blue skyline and 14-foot Jacuzzi sufficient for nearly 25 people.
The man responsible for such a luxurious installation, Bobby Johnson, owner of Trinity Outdoor Living says “it just doesn’t get much sweeter than this.” Soon enough guests will be able to relax in this 24-jet Jacuzzi, perched above a natural oasis, soaking up the sun. “It won’t be too long before it is all ready,” Johnson said. Just as the Texas summer stings this May, the pool will be ready for a cool, refreshing dip.
“This is going to bring a positive, economic impact to our community,” Director of Business Development and Marketing for Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, Ray Tipton optimism showed in his excitement over all the amenities the golf club has to offer. “Between golfing, swimming and just relaxing, there will be a lot for tourists to engage in,” he said. “This will present relocation opportunities for people all around the area.”
In addition to the new home of the Hideout Clubhouse, improvements are currently being done to the driving range. By summer the 500-yard range will have a new location and an even greater expanse. “Just another advancement to look forward to,” new home owner and member, Chip Camp said as he enjoyed a peaceful Saturday afternoon on the greens. With smiles from ear to ear, he expressed his appreciation for his new home at King’s Point Cove. “Where else can you be in the middle of January in a t-shirt,” Camp said. He leans back in his golf cart, rests his hands behind his head and lets out a sigh, “It’s a good day. It’s beautiful and I’m playing golf, doesn’t get any better than that.”
