Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water clear; 58–62 degrees; 10.45′ low. Black bass are good on black/blue Bass Hogg jigs, Persuader crankbaits, and GrandeBass 4″ Trickster worms over brush piles. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies and spinnerbaits off lighted docks at night. Crappie are fair on Li’l Fishies and minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on cut bait and nightcrawlers over baited holes. Yellow catfish are slow.

Lake Coleman

Water lightly stained; 59–63 degrees; 13.60′ low. Black bass are fair on soft plastics and Rat–L–Traps. Hybrid striper are fair on chartreuse striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 46–54 degrees; 34.46′ low. Black bass are fair on jigs, Rat–L–Traps and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

Lake Proctor

Water lightly stained; 57–61 degrees; 5.17′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon crankbaits and soft plastic worms. Striped bass are fair on chartreuse striper jigs. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles in 10–18 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on live shad and goldfish. Yellow catfish are slow.
