BFD Fire & Rescue Reports 2/12

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of February 3- 9, 2013 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 19 medical emergencies, 4 fire calls, and 1 motor vehicle accident.

Reports of interest include:

Wednesday, February 6

*3:17 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 1400 block of Austin Avenue.  No care was provided to the occupants of either vehicle.

* 4:47 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 3500 block of Rhodes Road.  Firefighters responded to the call of a kitchen fire.  Crews arrived on scene to find light smoke coming from window.  All residents were found to be out of the building. The fire was determined to be a grease fire on the stove.  The attic was checked for hot spots and nothing was found.

Thursday, February 7

*1:13 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire in the 300 block of E. Commerce where they responded to a small grass fire in drainage ditch.  The majority of the fire had been extinguished by employees of Bruner Chevrolet.  Fire Fighters ensured fire was out.

*7:16 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 1600 block of Borden Street.  Firefighters responded to the call of a strange smell in residence which was later determined to be the compressor on the refrigerator.

Saturday, February 9

*4:16 AM – BFD responded to a fire call in the 200 block of C. C. Woodson Road.  Fire crews were dispatched to Early to assist with a car fire.   Firefighters arrived on scene with Early Police Department and found a car off the roadway which was fully involved.  No driver was in the area. The fire was extinguished.
