Helen L. Kelcy

Helen L. Kelcy, age 94, of Brownwood and formerly of Blanket died at 2:30 PM Monday in the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Mize officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.    Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Helen was born October 7, 1918 in Brownwood the daughter of Cyris and Rosa Anna Hulsey Wheat.  She was married to Jim Kelcy who preceded her in death and had been a homemaker most of her life.  She was a member of the Salt Creek Baptist Church and had lived in Blanket most of her life.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Pemberton and husband Leon of Snyder; a granddaughter, Leslie Pemberton; 2 grandsons, Jeremy Kelcy and Nico DaAmato; brother, Oscar Wheat; and other family, Jacob and John Schwab as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, several brothers and sisters, son, Gary Kelcy, and a daughter, Gayla DaAmato.
