Emergency responders were called to a one-vehicle accident Monday night on Austin Avenue where a pickup truck hit a utility pole.

Shortly before 10:00 PM, the Chevy pickup traveling south on Austin Avenue struck a utility pole in the 2600 block.

The male driver was able to walk away from the scene, appeared to be uninjured and was not transported to the hospital.  There was significant damage to the vehicle, and the utility pole was being checked by both Oncor and Verizon.

Brownwood Police Department, Brownwood Fire Department and Guardian EMS responded to the scene.
