The Brownwood Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 900 block of Wood Avenue Thursday afternoon. Upon fire crews’ arrival on scene, only smoke was visible under the eave of the house, no visible flames were showing.

According to Brownwood Fire Marshal Buddy Preston, a small fire had ignited in the attic causing one of the rafters to be burnt through.  The fire was contained in the attic.  The cause was electrical related according to Preston’s initial investigation. No injuries were reported according to the property owner.
