Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water lightly stained; 58–62 degrees; 10.23′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat–L–Traps over brush piles. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

Lake Coleman

Water lightly stained; 62–66 degrees; 13.40′ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on silver striper jigs. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel catfish are fair on shrimp and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 48–54 degrees; 34.46′ low. Black bass are fair to good on Rat–L–Traps, Texas rigs, chatterbaits and shaky heads. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

Lake Proctor

Water lightly stained; 54–58 degrees; 5.00′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on pet spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are fair on liver and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
