Campers joined the staff at Lake Brownwood State Park for the first annual Holiday at the Lake event on Saturday.

Park officials invited visitors to bring camping gear and decorations for a “best decorated campsite,” a campfire talk with a park ranger, a visit from Santa and sugar cookie decorating.

Guests also enjoyed hot chocolate during the presentation of the award for best decorated campsite.  The winners, Ty Ingram and family, were presented a gift card (courtesy Lake Brownwood Community Development Council) and their fees for the night were waived.

“There was a good showing for Holiday at the Lake,” said Stephen Gober of the Lake Brownwood State Park Police. “We all had a good time and look forward to it being bigger and better next year.”

Pictured at top is Craig Seger, president of the Lake Brownwood Community Development Council presenting the gift card to the Ingrams.  Pictured below is of the winning campsite belonging to Ty Ingram and family from Abilene and a young visitor enjoying a sugar cookie after decorating it. The cookies were provided by the Friends of Lake Brownwood State Park.

For more information about Lake Brownwood State Park and its activities throughout the year, call the park office at (325) 784-5223.
