Bobby Joe Tongate, age 82, of Brownwood went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 7, 2012.  Graveside services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, December 12 at Cross Cut Cemetery in Cross Cut, Texas with Tony King officiating. Visitation will from 10 am to 12 pm on Wednesday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, 800 Center Ave. in Brownwood.

Bobby was born on September 5, 1930 in Cross Cut, Texas to Percy L. and Loyda I. Newton Griffin and had lived in Brownwood for the last 20 years. She was an avid artist who worked in oil painting, china painting, stone sculpture and ceramics. She owned and operated Green Valley Ceramics in Brownwood for many years and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

She is survived by her step-daughter, Janet Lea Beach of Panama City Beach, Florida; nieces, Teresa Sue Tiner and her husband Bruce of Brownwood, Barbara Cassiday and her husband John of Colt City, Arkansas, Betty Forrester and her husband Wayne of Brownwood and Tracy Gail Feoli and her husband Carl of Staten Island, New York; nephews, Ben Lawson, Jr. of Brownwood, Willie Lawson of Brownwood, Jason Earl Cansler and his wife Sonya of San Angelo, Texas and step-granddaughter, Tiffany Lea Allgood of Dawsonville, Georgia.
