BFD Fire & Rescue Reports 12/10

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of December 2-8, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 29 medical emergencies, 1 agency assist, 1 fire call and 4 motor vehicle accidents.

Reports of interest include:

Sunday, December 2

*9:46 a.m. – BFD was called for a lift assist.

Wednesday, December 5

*2:43 p.m. – BFD responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident in the 100 block of Elm Street. Upon arrival, no vehicle was found in the area.

Thursday, December 6

*3:20 p.m. – BFD was called to a motor vehicle accident in the 2500 block of Austin Avenue involving 2 vehicles with no injuries.

*6:00 p.m. – BFD was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident in the 500 block of Carnegie involving 2 vehicles with one transported by Guardian.

Friday, December 7

*9:37 a.m. – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries near the intersection of Austin Avenue & Magnolia Street.

Saturday, December 8

*4:33 p.m. – BFD was called to the 2700 block of Elizabeth Drive regarding a possible gas leak.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a gas meter had been damaged.  The gas was turned off and Atmos Energy was contacted.

*6:57 p.m. – BFD was dispatched to a grass fire in the 300 block of Hackberry.  Fire units arrived to find the home owner was burning leaves.  Firefighters informed home owner of city ordinance and extinguished the fire.
