Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Men’s & Ladies Auxiliary will observe the 71st anniversary of the defense of Pearl Harbor from the Japanese attack at 1:00PM on December 7, 2012 at the Post located at 2300 Stephen F. Austin.

The Post and Auxiliary members will observe the event by reading the historical background of the attack and awarding the Commemorative Asiatic, Pacific Medal to Mr. Roy “Pete” Ferguson.

Mr. Ferguson served on the USS Vincennes during WWII. He was discharged from service in August of 1946.

Mr. Ferguson worked for the City of Brownwood Fire Department for 42 years serving as the Chief for 27 of those years.
