christmasparadelogoThe annual Spirit of Christmas Lighted Parade is all set to begin Thursday, December 6th at 6 PM in Downtown Brownwood.  Starting at the Depot Complex and traveling down Center Avenue and around the courthouse, the parade will feature 100 entries from marching bands, lighted floats, horses, fire trucks, costumed characters, stage bands, singers, dancers and of course the man-of-the-season Santa Claus.

Southside Church, who organizes the parade, announced last week that the 2012 Spirit of Christmas Lighted Parade Grand Marshal will be Family Services Center.

There will also be vendors selling hot chocolate and small inexpensive “glow” toys for the kids. This year the parade will be broadcast live on the Wendlee Broadcast stations as well as KOXE beginning at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 6th. KTAB Channel 32 out of Abilene will be rebroadcasting the parade as well.

There are still some spaces left in this year’s parade but space is limited to 100 entries. Visit the parade website at www.southsidebrownwood.org and click on the Spirit of Christmas Lighted Parade tab or call the church office at 325-646-0844 for additional information.
