LECSmBrownwood Police said Thursday that they have connected a recent report of a burglary of a home with a separate report of a runaway juvenile after an investigation.

On Monday, November 12th, BPD officers were called to the 2600 block of W. Main Blvd regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to police, the resident reported that a window had been broken to enter the home where an unknown amount of firearms were missing. During the investigation, two 12 gauge shotguns were located in a playhouse outside the residence, the report states.

According to Assistant Chief of Police James Fuller, that morning around 6:30am, BPD received a report of a runaway from a residence on 16th Street in Brownwood. This juvenile, along with another student from the Brownwood Alternative High School were reported to have been found eating a meal at the Stripes convenience store on W. Commerce in Brownwood, said Fuller.

Fuller stated that after an investigation was completed regarding the burglary at the residence on W. Main, the runaway juveniles were determined to be the suspects. The stolen property, which included a few hunting rifles/shot guns and some jewelry, were able to be recovered according to Fuller. Charges are in the process of being filed according to law enforcement.

In other unrelated reports released Thursday, November 15, 2012:

*Texas Juvenile Justice Department arrested 18-year-old Savannah D. Babb for Assault on a Public Servant. Babb is currently held at the Brown County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

*Early Police arrested 57-year-old Paul George Challenger of Early for Public Intoxication.

*Early Police arrested 60-year-old Billy Calvin Gatlin for Public Intoxication.

*Bangs Police arrested 32-year-old Arnold Richard Johnson of San Angelo for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 ounces and Unlawful Carrying Weapon.

Thursday, November 15

*Brownwood Police investigated the burglary of a concession stand at Gordon Wood Stadium. Thursday morning, officers called to the stadium concession stand and found only a few soft drinks had been taken during this burglary, according to Brownwood Assistant Chief James Fuller. He stated that although the suspects didn’t take much in the burglary, they did cause thousands of dollars in damage to the building. The case is still under investigation and it is unknown if this burglary is related to the burglary of the concession stands at Gordon Wood Stadium on October 18th where $2000 was taken from inside the building, according to Fuller.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
