Wesley “Buddy” Cobb

Funeral services for Wesley “Buddy” Cobb, 73, of Bangs, will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, November 15, at the Bethel Baptist Church of Zephyr, 8501 CR 292, with Ben Cox officiating. No set visitation has been scheduled but Mr. Cobb will be in state at Netherton Funeral Home until Wednesday evening.

Mr. Cobb passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012, in Denton Texas.

Wesley Clark Cobb Jr., was born on February 14, 1939, in Odessa, Texas, the only child of Wesley Clark Cobb, Sr. and Arlene Herrington Cobb. He married Anita Moseley on February 8, 1958 in Odessa Texas. He attended the Bible Baptist Seminary and received a Bachelor of Divinity in 1965 and served as the Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Zephyr. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and shooting in his spare time and had lived in Bangs since 2001, moving there from Timberon, New Mexico.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Anita Cobb of Bangs; one son, John Cobb and wife Barbara of Lakeland, Florida; four daughters, Becky Whitehead and husband David of Garfield, AR; Gwen Cox and husband Ben of Lewisville, TX; Beth Smith and husband Rick of Cortez; CO; and Jo Shaffer and husband Larry of Rifle, CO.    He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Arlene Cobb.

Arrangements for Wesley Buddy Cobb are under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home and Cremations.
