Funeral Services for Robert McDowell, age 82, of Brownwood will be held Thursday, November 08, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Hetzel officiating. Interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. He passed away at home in Brownwood on November 05, 2012. Robert was born on January 29th, 1930 to James and Helen (Crist) McDowell in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. On June 08th, 1956, he married Jean Dunlap. They were married 55 years.
Robert served in the Army Air Force and the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner and member of the American Legion and VFW. Robert worked for the Police Department for 15 years and retired from Phillips Drisco Pipe.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, and 2 brothers. Survivors include his wife, Jean McDowell of Brownwood; 1 son, Kenny Dunlap of Temple; 1 daughter, Christy Primich and husband Paul of Brownwood; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; also 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
