John Delbert Hopper

Funeral services for John Delbert Hopper will Wednesday November 7, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Hopper passed away Sunday at his home.

He was born September 16, 1925 in Bend County, Texas to Ed Ira and Nell Cornelius Hopper.

John served his country in the United States Marines during WWII. He served in the South Pacific Theater in Iwo Jima and Siapan. He was an avid golfer. On December 31, 1950 he and Mildred Faye Adams were married in Brownwood, Texas.

John is survived by one son and daughter-in-law David and Vicki Hopper of Bangs.

His step-grandchildren; Amanda McGill, J. Ben Williams, Dalon Williams, and Wacey Williams, great-grandchildren; Corbin Mcgill, Collier McGill, Robert Wilburn, Blaise Williams and Bailey Kay Williams.

To John’s delight he became a granddad and great-granddad, he often bragged “he got them the easy way.” He loved to boast of their accomplishments

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother Wilton Hopper.
