Early Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched Tuesday night to the report of a pickup on fire on U.S. Highway 183S just outside of Early.

Around 8:20pm firefighters arrived to find a flatbed pickup in flames parked in the bar ditch.

Initial reports state that the vehicle was traveling inbound toward Early, near E. River Oaks when the fire began and later spread to a small grass fire where the vehicle was parked. No injuries were reported.

Early VFD quickly extinguished the truck and grass fires and left the scene shortly before 9:00pm.
