Monday Morning Update: The driver of a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant, 25-year-old Jeremy Ansons of Brownwood, was airlifted to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene after he crashed the vehicle into a utility pole Sunday night.  Ansons was later treated for his injuries and released from the hospital, according to officials.

Original Article: One man was airlifted after his vehicle crashed into a utility pole Sunday night on the corner of Mustang and Longhorn Lane near Brownwood Middle School.

Approximately 9:30pm, emergency responders were called to the scene of a one-vehicle accident involving a passenger car and a utility pole.  A male subject was transported by Air Evac Lifetime helicopter to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene according to officials.  The helicopter landed in the practice field of the middle school to pick up the patient.  His condition was not disclosed at the time of the accident.

No homes are in the area where the crash occurred and very little traffic passes through the intersection.  Officers on scene said nearby residents heard the crash and the sound of the horn after the accident, which led them to the scene and the injured man.

Brownwood Police Department, Brownwood Fire Department, Guardian EMS and Air Evac Lifeteam responded to the scene.
